6 DAYS MARANGU/MWEKA ROUTE

DAY 1:
DISTANCE : 9 KM DURATION: 4 HOURS
Leave Arusha after breakfast and drive to Marangu Gate, where you will start the trek to Mandara Hut. Lunch, dinner and overnight at Mandara Hut.

DAY 2:
DISTANCE: 11 KM DURATION: 5-7 HOURS
After breakfast trek slowly to Horombo Hut. Lunch, dinner and overnight at Horombo Hut.

DAY 3:
Full day at Horombo Hut acclimatizing to the higher altitudes.

DAY 4:
DISTANCE: 10 KM DURATION: 5-7 HOURS
After breakfast trek from Horombo Hut to Kibo Hut. Lunch, dinner and overnight at Kibo Hut.

DAY 5:
DISTANCE 24 KM DURATION: 12 HOURS
Early start to the summit arriving there by daybreak after a 7 hours/8 km trek. Then descend slowly to Mweka Hut. Lunch, dinner and overnight at Mweka Hut.

DAY 6:
DISTANCE: 10 KM DURATION: 3-4 HOURS
Leave from Mweka Hut after breakfast and descend down to Mweka Gate where you will be picked up for the drive back to Arusha Town.
